PSP-INDIANA State police are investigating two cases of vandalism on September 4th in Rayne Township, but it’s not known if the cases are connected to each other.  Police reported that just after midnight, someone had defaced road signs and the roadway surface on Route 403 and Rayne Run Road using spray paint.  The damage was reported at £350.  The second incident happened sometime between midnight and 8:00 AM the same day, where police say a Joe Biden campaign sign was defaced with spray paint.  The sign was on the property of 63-year-old Malcolm Herman of Rayne Township. State police were called out early Friday morning to a location on McCracken Road in East Wheatfield Township.  Police say that around 4:20 in the morning, a suspect identified only as a 44-year-old Vintondale man had gone to the home of his ex-girlfriend, a 39-year-old woman from Seward, and that visit lead to an altercation.  The man was cited for harassment and disorderly conduct.


State police from the Kiski Valley barracks are filing charges against a Saltsburg man for driving under the influence on Sunday afternoon.  Police say that they were called at 3:31 PM on Sunday as someone reported that the suspect, identified only as a 49-year-old Saltsburg man, was intoxicated and inside a Dollar General Store along Route 981 in Bell Township, Westmoreland County.  The caller said they saw him get into his car and drive off, going south on 981.  After police got a description, troopers were able to find the vehicle and saw the driver committing several traffic violations.  Troopers were able to determine that the suspect was under the influence of both alcohol and drugs.  He was taken into custody on DUI and subsequently released.  Charges will be filed through district court.

Another DUI case was reported over the weekend by State Police from the Kiski Valley Barracks that involved a person from Indiana County.  Police say this case happened at 6:24 PM on Saturday in Loyalhanna Township, Westmoreland County.  Troopers initiated a traffic stop in the 200 block of Salt Street, and found that the driver, identified only as a 29-year-old Indiana man, was driving under the influence of a controlled substance.  The passenger, who was not identified, was in possession of heroin and methamphetamine.  Charges will be filed in District Court.
