OMAHA, Neb. — An employee with Omaha Public Schools is facing child sex assault charges. Omaha Police say 39-year-old Jose Luis Carreno turned himself into police on Thursday.
He is facing charges that include three counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child. Police say a victim, now an adult, disclosed that she had been sexually assaulted by a family member nine years ago when she was a child. During the investigation, a second victim was identified, police say.
The second victim told police that Carreno, a security guard at Gomez Heritage Elementary School, had sexually assaulted her while she was a student.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims.
